Born and raised in Lake Charles, Louisiana, Sue is proud of her native Louisiana heritage, she has concentrated on sharing her vision of the qualities that make this state special. Through her art, she hopes to raise the awareness and appreciation of the south Louisiana landscape and culture.
Knowing since childhood that she had a gift in art, Sue did not fully embrace it until mid life.
As a young adult thirty years ago, Sue began painting in watercolor for fun, learning the techniques of watercolor from local artist, Jerry Wright. It was only in the past 10 years, though, that she took a more serious approach to art and began an intense self study of design principles and their application to her artwork. She soon began exhibiting her work professionally.
Sue is a graduate of McNeese State University in Lake Charles. She and her husband, Paul, have four sons who enjoy to the fullest the opportunities southwest Louisiana has to offer.
Sue has been exhibiting her work professionally since 1999. Her work has been accepted into the following
